COLLEGE STUDENTS:
You have the right to register to vote at your college address. While you may only be planning to be a resident at your school for 4 years, you are still a member of the local community nonetheless. Your vote can directly affect the people who govern over your education and control your tuition rates (in the case of a public university), so you have the right to choose to vote in your new home if you choose to do so.
Depending on what state you come from, your vote may be more powerful in Nevada than back at home with your parents. As one of the infamous “battlegrounds,” your vote will actively sway who wins the presidency and the majority in congress.
FELONS:
There are states that restrict felon’s access to voting. Nevada used to be one of these states until 2019 when voting rights for all felons who have served their sentences were restored.
Uniformed and Overseas Citizens:
All American citizens have the right to vote, even Americans who live abroad
